Emma Rugg
Hello everyone!
My name is Emma and in 2003 when I was newly qualified, I got my first early years job. Since then, I have worked in a few different private nurseries, as well as a nanny. I have gained a PDA qualification and in 2022 I completed the BA Childhood Practice degree. Now I am back with the same company and setting where my career began – full circle moment!
My vision for early years is to support the children within the nursery to form strong foundations that will impact them throughout their lives. I am very interested in how children’s brains develop and how experiences we provide at nursery impacts its development. I strive to provide a safe and welcoming nursery where children know they are supported with developing positive relationships and understanding of their emotional wellbeing. Through achieving this, the brain can be more susceptible to learning and experience new things.
I am an advocate for outdoor learning and the benefits that has on children’s health, wellbeing and learning. Providing children opportunities to explore their community and the world around them.
I feel that parents are just as much a part of nursery life as the children and staff. Working in partnership with the parents ensures the children gain the experiences and support they need. I want to get it right for every child and building strong partnerships with parents will ensure that happens.
It is the small things that make the biggest impact.
