After a two month renovation the newest Little Beehive Nursery opens!

We are delighted to have opened our doors to our newest nursery this week, a fully renovated 84 place nursery in the heart of Kirkcaldy.

The development process took two months, from start to finish with the doors opening for the first time on Monday the 7th of August for old and new parents.

The site, formally Little Einsitnes, was added to the group in June 2020 and full redevelopment plans were drawn up by Head of Child Development Sandra and project manager carol with the child at the forefront of the plans.

“The ambitions were to turn it into an open plan nursery, and when we first saw it, we could see its potential. However, it was divided up into small rooms that just didn’t work with our ethos” Sandra Davidson, Director, commented.

The location becomes Little Beehives largest nursery offering care to up to 84 children.

“We are delighted with how it turned out, the project took a little longer than expected, but we think it was worth the wait!” Carol Craig, Director, commented. “From the first moment I stepped into it I could see its potential, large windows with lots of natural light was one of the biggest selling points for me.”

Located opposite Fife College and a 5-minute walk from town, the nursery is situated in a perfect location for parents/carers and children.

“Being so close to the town is fantastic, we can get out and into the community as much as we like, it’s an essential part of our ethos to be involved around the town” Sandra commented.

The garden has also seen a renovation, with areas in the garden now specific to certain types of play and development.

“Although the children loved the old climbing frame, we didn’t think it offered much educational benefit, instead, we have introduced a mud kitchen, large sand area, plants and an area designed for babies to explore. The only thing missing now is the vegetable beds so we can start learning about produce and making some yummy soups in the kitchen!” Carol Craig (Director)

The nursery currently has a waiting list for some rooms and days, and we are offering after-hours show round or Zoom showground’s also. Get in touch to get your name on the waiting list or see if we can start your care tomorrow!
