Disappointment on the night… but delighted overall!

After hearing we had made the shortlist for the “Nursery Group of the Year” put together by NMT magazine we were delighted to accept the invitation to Glasgow on the 30th of August for a night of glitz and glam with other nurseries and industry leaders.

All the Little Beehive managers attended as well as directors Sandra and Carol, dressed to impress and ready for a night of drinks and networking! Throughout the day a networking event and conference took place allowing Carol and Sandra time to meet and chat to suppliers and other nursery directors.

Pre-drinks at the bar with all the managers followed, each looking lovely in their ball outfits (we definitely won best dressed!) and a lovely 3 course meal to follow.

Celebrating our nursery staff

The night went off without a hitch and a massive thank you to the NMT team for organising it. Arlene Stuart took to the stage and the awards started! as the categories were called nerves started to spread around the tables. Each category fiercely contested by the best Scotland has to offer, with whoops and cheers from tables dotted round the ball room.

Our shortlist, Nursery group of the year, was second to last (save the best till second last, right?), and at this point our optimism was high, looking back at the fantastic year the LBH team have had, we should have been!

However, sadly it was not our night, a huge congratulations to Forbes childcare and their team, very well deserved!

After the awards, a disco to let our hair down and have a boogie, if they didn’t have an award for best dressed they should have had one for the best dancer… and I think all 5 of our managers would have been shortlisted… but there was only one winner in my eyes… Faye from our St Andrews nursery! She most certainly has a career on Strictly if she ever fancies a change of profession!

All of it wrapped up at 1am, goodbyes were exchanged and that was that.

“If we look back at our year and where we are now, we have come on leaps and bounds and we can’t thank everyone enough, from admin support to the newest trainee, everyone has had a vital part to play in our last year and this shortlist shows where we are at, we still have progress to make and we won’t stop until we offer the best for you and your child, and make LBH the place to work in the childcare industry.” – Carol Craig (Director)

Overall a fantastic event that has allowed us to make new contacts and friends all over Scotland. A massive thank you to NMT Scotland for the night and we can’t wait to come back!
