On the 18th of November we received our first Care Inspectorate inspection at our new Sang Road location.  Due to the current restriction the inspection took the form of a virtual inspection.

Nurseries receive a Care Inspectorate inspection frequently to grade the nurseries quality of service on a 1 – 6 scale. Each inspection, the nursery is put through its paces and all areas of the service are assessed leading to a Care Inspectorate report and overall grade.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, this inspection assessed the following three areas.

5.1 Children’s health and Wellbeing are supported and safeguarded during COVID-19.

5.2 Infection prevention and Control Practices support a safe environment for children and staff

5.3 Staff arrangements are responsive to the changing needs of the children during COVID-19.

We are thrilled to inform you, we have received an inspection grade of “5 – Very good” in all three areas, the second highest grade that can be awarded in the industry.

Learning to count through play

“We are delighted we have achieved this grading from the Care Inspectorate.  It is wonderful for the Kirkcaldy team and testament to their hard work especially within these unprecedented times. ” Director Carol Craig commented.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the current inspections asses the nurseries response and ongoing practice during the pandemic and this grade will be in place until another inspection is completed.

Nursery manager Amanda joined the service in early November after moving from Little Beehive Cupar, “With the little time I have been here, I have been utterly astonished by the high quality of service the Kirkcaldy team can deliver for children and families, and this inspection highlights that. I also want to thank the parents/carers of the nursery for their kind comments to Care Inspectorate throughout the inspection process. Looking forward, the next goal is a 6!"
