When your kids are starting school, you will generally be assigned one based on the catchment area.

In fact, there are even stories of families moving house, so they can be in the catchment area of a school that is viewed as “better”.

But what about nursery? Does the catchment area system work there?

The answer is, it depends.

Council-run nurseries are generally attached to primary schools and operate under the same system. If you live within the catchment area, you can send your child to the nursery - depending on the availability of places.

Private nursery offers more freedom and flexibility.

For example, our Newport-on-Tay nursery provides childcare to kids from Newport, Tayport, Wormit, Dundee, Drumoig and Gauldry.

Our Strathkinnes nursery offers childcare to kids from Strathkinnes, St Andrews, Leuchars, Guardbridge, Dairsie and as far away as Anstruther and Crail.

In fact, we have nurseries throughout Fife and Tayside.

It can be really helpful for parents to choose a nursery closer to work rather than their home.

Our nurseries in Fife and Tayside offer places that are flexible and at a location that suits you.

If you are looking for childcare in Fife or Tayside, contact Little Beehive to discuss the location that is best for you.
